I’m Denise, a 51-year-old artist and maker from the Netherlands—and the person behind TIXITOXI.
A few months ago, I started experimenting with bleach on clothing. What began as a new creative adventure quickly became something much bigger. People responded with so much enthusiasm to my designs that I decided to keep creating and turn this new passion into TIXITOXI.
BEFORE THE BLEACH
Before working with clothing, I created art using pyrography—the technique of burning designs into wood. Although the material has changed, my love for working by hand has stayed exactly the same.
Whether I’m burning an image into wood or creating a design with bleach, I love transforming something ordinary into a completely unique piece.
HANDMADE. ALTERED. ONE OF A KIND.
Every TIXITOXI piece is created by hand. I don’t use a machine to reproduce the bleach designs, which means no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
Alongside my ready-made collection, I also create custom pieces based on your photo, portrait, pet or idea. These can be made on T-shirts, hoodies and other suitable cotton items.
